Fun with the Fam...

A few days after we got back from the houseboat trip with Taya's family, Ross' family came down to Little Rock to spend a few days at our house. We felt pretty special to know that they drove half-way across the country just to visit us.

We had a great time showing them around our little town, swimming at the neighborhood pool, and taking them out for our favorite foods (world-famous barbecue at Whole Hog cafe, frozen custard at Shakey's, and the never-ending-don't-even-get-up-cuz-we'll-bring-it-to-you buffet at Larry's pizza). It was so much fun to watch Isaiah and Demi interact, they just loved each other! Most of all, it was awesome to just get to hug them and spend countless hours visiting.

Our families are so special to us, it's great to have moments like this to fill up our love-banks, and although it's always so hard to say goodbye (it NEVER gets easier) we trust that God knew what He was doing when He called us to move away from home and we praise Him for every single moment we get with our family. So many people we reach out to through FamilyLife would give anything to have what we have- families who are committed to each other and love us very much. We have so much to be thankful for...

I'm sure you don't take a minute with family for granted. As my kids are getting older and I'm starting to grasp the reality of them living away, it's encouraging to hear how this whole business can work. I never want to be a parent who tries to keep my kids near me when God has other ideas, so to see how a family can love each other from afar is VERY ENCOURAGING! Blessings.

It was such a precious time with you all...we have talked about it everyday since we said goodbye outside of "Larry's Pizza"...
Thankyou for your incredible hospitality and love, love, love!
One of Isaiah's hugs and kisses is worth the drive =)
